Ringing in the Year of the Rabbit

I called home last night to wish my brother a happy birthday and my family a happy Chinese New Year. As I was scarfing down a microwavable hot pocket and a bowl of spring mix, my family was regaling in nine dishes of hearty Chinese food prepared by my grandmother. There was 珍珠丸子, 鱼, and of course my favorite dish 梅菜扣肉.

You know you are becoming an adult when you go into a grocery store and come out 10 minutes later with orange juice, yogurt, and organic spring mix salad, completely bypassing the candy and chips aisle. Talk about maturation of taste buds.

Asian American Tutorial Project

I never believed that I would be a tutor. For one, I don't have the patience and two, I don't know how to teach people. I'm one of those people who knows the material but isn't able to coherently convey the information from my brain to my tutee. Nevertheless, I joined the Asian American Tutorial Project.

Fourth Floor Renovations at the Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry

While the carefree freshman were blissfully sunbathing on the grassy lawns in McCarthy Quad, I was holed up in the dental school research lab for much of the afternoon. Today was my first day back in the lab after a one week hiatus to take the DAT. I was surprised by the newly renovated lecture hall on the fourth floor that's equipped with two flat screen tvs on the outside. It smelled so new!

How to Study for the DAT

I’m finally done with the DAT after 28 days of the grind (well, technically 25 days because I was out with the flu for 3 days). I spent my winter vacation studying from 9am – midnight with a few intermittent breaks. I’m relatively happy with my score although I feel like I could have done better in a few categories. I’ll give a breakdown of my DAT here.
